Tandem Jump in Wyoming

Wyoming skydiving is defined by scale. From altitude the high plains and Rocky Mountain foothills run out farther than the eye can hold: the Bighorn Mountains standing to the north, the far peaks of the Grand Tetons off to the west, and a sea of sagebrush steppe rolling between them. The state's thin population leaves the airspace wide open and uncluttered, which makes for calm, unhurried jumps for first-time tandem students and seasoned fun-jumpers alike, all of it over country that still reads as frontier.

A first tandem here comes with an outsized backdrop. Freefall over the Laramie Range or the plains near Cheyenne is magnified by the raw size of the ground below. AFF students get the benefit of uncrowded skies and room to focus on their progression. Drop zones tend to be owner-operated, which builds a close-knit scene where safety and one-on-one instruction come standard, a good place to learn and to keep climbing the ladder.
