Where the skydiving clubs are
West Point Parachute Team
West Point, NY
A cadet parachute team at the United States Military Academy, known as the Black Knights, composed of roughly three dozen cadets. Cadets join during their plebe year and train with coaches from West Point's Department of Military Instruction, competing at the national and collegiate level in accuracy and formation disciplines. The team also provides demonstrations for the academy, including jumping the game ball into Michie Stadium.
Georgia Tech Sport Parachute Club
Atlanta, GA
A skydiving club of Georgia Institute of Technology students that has existed since the early 1960s. The club competes each year at the National Collegiate Skydiving Championships, skydives on weekends, and flies indoor wind tunnels during the week. It is open to all members of the Georgia Tech community with no prior experience required, and has around 25 members.
Falling Gators Skydiving Club
Gainesville, FL
A University of Florida skydiving club, founded more than thirty years ago, that promotes the sport of skydiving in the Gainesville community and provides an avenue for college students to enter the sport. First jump courses are taught on campus by USPA-rated AFF instructors, and the club offers free gear rentals to active members. Its home dropzone is Skydive Palatka, about an hour from campus, where it hosts an annual collegiate boogie each spring.
Maytown Sport Parachute Club
Marietta, PA
One of the oldest skydiving clubs in the country and the only USPA Group Member club in Central Pennsylvania, located at 188 Airport Road in Marietta. The club serves first-time jumpers, students learning to skydive, and experienced skydivers, and describes itself as a club rather than a commercial dropzone. It operates on weekends from 10am to sunset, with limited weekday hours from April through September.
MIT Skydiving Club
Cambridge, MA
One of the oldest college skydiving clubs in the country, founded in 1957 by MIT students after hearing a lecture by Jacques Istel. The club welcomes all experience levels and organizes trips to nearby Massachusetts drop zones for recreational and competitive skydiving. Members progress from tandem jumps through USPA Accelerated Freefall (AFF) training toward an A-license, jumping at Skydive Pepperell and Jumptown in Orange, MA.
MU Dropouts Skydiving Club
Oxford, OH
A skydiving club that has been active with Miami University since 1972, helping thousands of Miami students, friends, and faculty perform their first skydives. Members can pursue a full license progression through AFF or static-line programs, or make a tandem jump. The club partners with Skydive Warren County and holds members to USPA Basic Safety Requirements.
Purdue Sport Parachute Club
West Lafayette, IN
A student skydiving club at Purdue University that jumps at Skydive Indiana in Frankfort, Indiana. The club meets monthly and, in warm weather, members jump nearly every weekend. Members have competed at the U.S. National Collegiate Parachuting Championships in events including sport accuracy and free flying.
Skydive Broncos
Kalamazoo, MI
A nationally competing collegiate skydiving team at Western Michigan University, founded in 2016. It is a registered USPA group member and sport club, and was the first registered 501(c)(3) non-profit collegiate skydiving team in the nation. The team works to make skydiving accessible to college students, both competitively and recreationally.
Texas A&M Skydiving Club
College Station, TX
A student skydiving club at Texas A&M University whose mission is to share the experience of skydiving with students, faculty, staff, and community members. The club has competed at the USPA Collegiate Skydiving Championships and partners with Skydive Spaceland San Marcos, which offers discounted rates to college club members.
United States Air Force Academy Parachute Team
Colorado Springs, CO
Known as the Wings of Blue, this cadet parachute team at the U.S. Air Force Academy runs the Air Force's Basic Freefall Parachuting course (Airmanship 490) as jumpmasters and instructors. Parachuting at the academy began in 1964 when cadets earned club status after a challenge from West Point to compete in a para meet. The team fields both a demonstration team that travels to airshows and sporting events and a competition team that competes nationally.
USNA Parachute Team
Annapolis, MD
An all-volunteer team of midshipmen skydivers at the United States Naval Academy that performs demonstration jumps at Brigade sporting events and ceremonies on the Yard. The team competes against universities across the nation at the USPA Collegiate Nationals and conducts demonstrations across the Mid-Atlantic region. Membership is open to any midshipman who completes the team's annual tryout process.
Wolverine Skydiving Club
Ann Arbor, MI
The University of Michigan's skydiving club, open to all college students in the state of Michigan. Members range from those interested in their first tandem jump to licensed skydivers looking for people to jump with on weekends. The club is free to join and is always accepting new members.
WSU Skydiving Club
Pullman, WA
A student skydiving club at Washington State University for students interested in the sport of skydiving. The club maintains an active presence organizing jumps and connecting members with drop zones.
