Tandem Jump in North Dakota

There's nothing to block the view. Jump over North Dakota and the horizon runs unbroken in every direction, the checkerboard farmland of the Red River Valley in the east, the long swells of prairie through the center and west. No mountains means no visual limit, just a flat, open enormity that hits differently in freefall. Drop zones sit near the bigger towns, keeping the exit points within easy reach for tandem students and AFF candidates alike.

A tandem here is a clean way in. Clipped to an instructor, you get to spend the whole ride looking rather than working: the Missouri River bending below, the low rise of the Coteau du Missouri, the grids of Fargo and Bismarck. It's a real cross-section of the state, from black-dirt farmland to the ragged edge of the badlands, all laid flat beneath you.
