Coached Jump in Oregon

Most Oregon jumping happens over the Willamette Valley, where the weather cooperates more often than the Pacific Northwest's reputation suggests and the drop zones sit close to Portland and Salem. From altitude the valley reads as a quilt of farm fields cut by the winding Willamette, with the Cascades standing up on the eastern edge: Mount Hood, Mount Jefferson, and the Three Sisters catching the light on a clear day. That mix of easy city access and big scenery is the Oregon jump in a sentence.

Tandem is where nearly everyone starts, since it gets you into freefall with only a short briefing beforehand. Oregon's drop zones put safety and instruction first, and the descent tends to deliver the classic Northwest view: deep green forest west of the mountains, drier and more open country to the east. For a lot of first-timers, that opening jump is the thing that turns a bucket-list dare into a hobby.
